WORCESTER City have extended their lead at the top of the Hellenic League Premier after they held on to beat second-placed Corsham Town 3-2.

City scored three first half goals through Liam Lockett, Kyle Belmonte and Elliot Hartley.

But a red card to captain Adam Mace at the end of the half and a converted penalty gave Corsham hope at 3-1.

Corsham scored another penalty in stoppage time to make City sweat but the league leaders dug deep and secured the three points.

Chris Cornes’ men now go six points clear with a game in hand on Corsham as the away side delivered a statement victory to further enhance their title credentials.
